I am _____, can I still model?
Feel free to replace the black space with whatever your particular situation is. We get this question a lot, whether it is describing age, race, gender, weight, being differently-abled or physical modifications (tattoos, piercings, braces, etc). Truth is there are no restrictions for who can become a model! Your beauty is unique, and if you have a passion for modelling, with the right agency or the right freelancing plan you can make your dream come true!
What should be included in a modelling portfolio?
The final breakdown of your portfolio will ultimately depend on the type of modelling work you are hoping to secure. In general, all types of modelling portfolio should begin with a foundation of a headshot, beauty shot, mid shot and full body shot taken with a natural look (i.e. minimal make-up). Beyond this, every model should have in their portfolio a handful of photos with 3-5 different looks showcasing their potential to perform in their desired modelling category.

What types of modelling can you do portfolios for?
Our primary focus is on fashion, runway, glamour, commercial and ecommerce modelling, but we are also able to cater to other specializations including swimwear, fitness, and child modelling.

Be honest, is it easy to get into an agency?
The tricky part is not signing with whatever agency wants to accept you, but about finding the right agency in which you can shine and get work. Different agencies cater to different styles of modelling and vibes. Some even mix up modelling opportunities with other areas such as event promoting or acting. There are also some great freelance platforms out there. Our photographer will be happy to recommend you some good fits after the photo shoot is over and we have had an opportunity to get to know you better.

What is the difference between a portfolio for a freelancer versus a model looking to sign with an agency?
An agency requires clean photos - typically on a white backdrop - showing the model as a blank canvas. A freelancer will more commonly be looking for influencer style opportunities - largely social media campaigns. For this it is encouraged to show more of your personal brand and style as the types of shoots can often be more diverse and creative.
